Who is Will?
The goal of Revelations is to give insight into Will - his motivations and needs for being there that night
Within that, the main goal is to show that his dream was to perform for those people that night
The participants can then realize that without even knowing it, they were able to make someone's dreams come true
This is the real life embodiment of the Power of One story
But he has also accepted who he is and his place in society - unlike a princess who rides off into the sunset with a happy ending, Will's story lives on and he goes on living his life
But he is forever changed knowing that human kindness exists and he gets the gift of knowing that if he were to die tomorrow, he at least got to live out one of his fantasies
Each participant should get a different snapshot of who Will is - some see him as an abused and recovered person (with offhanded lines such as ‘this is what you wanted’) and others can recognize him as a very talented individual who just never got his big break - others might try to offer that to him - but he no longer is interested in the limelight - he learned how dangerous that can be from Missy Vamp
There are many different ways to put the pieces together - there is no right or wrong answer - no one gets a full snapshot of Will
It can be discovered that he is the missing link between Free Will, Good Will, and Will Power, as he believes that you cannot have freedom without power and without power there likely is no goodness
The show is created so participants get hints from the situation and his physical presence in the space
Additionally, what he says before the routines is a clue, as well as the material itself as each routine is a metaphor (using juxtaposition - such as using a Sharpie while discussing impermanence) to shed light on his life
Afterwards, in the discussion, Will sheds some light on various parts of the character
Participants also get the PlayWill that gives various hints to who Will is - including reference to the effects that were performed - for example, the coin in card in the show is listed as "Extraction" - then one can put together what he said, what he did, and the name of the effect to realize that he was physically extracted from his abusive relationship where he became so tied to someone that he lost the core of who he was
This show attempts to challenge the notion of perception being reality and aims to start a discussion between participants after the show, as the main hope was to create a magic show that everyone experienced slightly differently
Finally, the play portion of the show allows those curious to take time to explore Will's life through exploration - just as a parallel to Will's life and story that is ongoing, participants have an ongoing opportunity to explore Will's life and learn various details about his past through the places he has worked, people in his life, and things that he does
Every detail is created so participants get a full snapshot of who this person is and with that perspective one can understand the main goal of the show
The main revelation is to realize that there is a part of Will in you - and this connection should give the perspective that Will / you could be anyone and this ideally bridges the gap between the main extremes of those with money and those without - and why it is designed as a fully inclusive magic show that is exclusive to 1,000 total participants - that is why every routine is a juxtaposition of ideas, just like the juxtaposition of a pizza guy at a fancy party.
